The 3rd Zigong Lantern Global Children's Creative Design Contest concluded its evaluation phase, drawing nearly 6,000 submissions worldwide. Launched on June 1, 2025 under the theme "A Boundless Future," the contest received 742 international entries from over 40 countries. Eighteen winners were selected across three award tiers, with select designs to become Event Decorations at an upcoming Zigong festival.

The international category recognized 18 winners across three tiers: Best Artwork (2), Excellence in Art (6), and Outstanding Creativity (10). An additional cohort of young participants received honorable mentions.
Best Artwork winners included Abigail, age 8, United Kingdom, for "Jellyfish Fantasy House"; and Yin Liu, age 8, United States, for "Panda Space Capsule."
Excellence in Art winners spanned six countries: Isabella, age 8, Italy ("Halloween Fantasy Night"); Srciln Joe, age 8, Germany ("Robot Home"); Wyat, age 7, Russia ("House in the Sky"); Devon, age 7, France ("Natural Energy Converter"); Anbei Liu, age 8, United Kingdom ("Mechanical Castle"); and Jayden, age 8, United Kingdom ("Music Robot").
Outstanding Creativity winners included Robert, age 7, Portugal ("Teapot Technology House"); Charlotte, age 8, Germany ("Smart Logistics"); Layla, age 7, Germany ("Robot Upgrading"); Rabia, age 6, France ("A Bomb in the Sea"); Emma, age 7, France ("Robot Door"); Lily, age 5, South Korea ("Colorful Jellyfish"); Zhangdan, age 7, United States ("Pumpkin Mechanical Vehicle"); Nora Cheng, age 7, United States ("Dragon in Space"); Isabella, age 7, Japan ("Seabed Detector"); and Denggong, age 9, United Kingdom ("Mechanical Treehouse").

The international entries came from more than 40 countries, including the United States, Australia, Canada, Finland, and Sweden. The geographic spread signals growing international engagement with Zigong's lantern culture. The contest received coverage from 22 media outlets.
From Winning Artwork to Illuminated Installation
Select winning designs will be fabricated into physical lantern installations for display at an upcoming edition of the Zigong International Dinosaur Lantern Festival. This continues a content incubation model that transforms international children's creativity into tangible Event Decorations for large-scale cultural events.
